So the news this week is exciting! I’m heading to Africa. Yep, we’ve decided to split up our SBS outreach into two teams and take one team to Africa and the other to Thailand. So I’m on my way to Africa with about 3 other people. I’m really excited about going. I wanted to go in February already but when that didn’t work out and it was looking like I would be going to Thailand instead I was a bit disappointed. I’m excited about the experience and seeing what God has in store for us there.

I’ve decided that I am a terrible blogger. I never feel like updating this thing. It’s been two weeks since the end of spring break. Lots has happened. I housesat for the break and the following two weeks. Heidi came to visit and teach in the SBS. It was fun hanging out with her again. I moved back to the base on Friday and enjoyed being back in my own bed. It’s been a bit harder of a transition back into base life. I’m only back for a couple weeks and then I housesit again.
Anyway, aside from housesitting I’ve been working on Jeremiah, Zephaniah and Habakkuk. Zephaniah and Habakkuk are repeats from last year so there’s not a whole lot of prep work that I have to do. Jeremiah on the other hand is a much bigger project and so I’ve been working to get a good start on it. I teach Habakkuk and Zephaniah next week. This week I’ve got to get some grading done so that will be the focus for the next couple of days.
Within all that happens in regular life God has been teaching me about intimacy with him. He’s really put it on my heart to pray more and to seek him in quietness. It’s always a challenge to find a good time to do this and to make it quality time. God’s been working here in the lives of individuals to show more of himself to us. It’s exciting to see people growing closer to God and experiencing more of him. Pray that God will continue to move in the lives of staff and students here at YWAM Turner Valley and that we’d be open to hear and obey his voice.
SBS is also preparing for outreach this summer. We are considering the possibility of splitting into two teams and going to Africa. We should know by the end of the week. I’m praying about where God would have me and that he would open doors to where he wants us to go. Please pray for wisdom and discernment in this decision.
